Meet the speakers of the EU Green Week Partner Event

On 3 June 2026, the RECAP cluster will bring together five Horizon Europe projects for the workshop “From End-of-Life to Lease-of-Life: Circularity in Action”, organised as an EU Green Week Partner Event.

Taking place at NTNU Brussels with hybrid participation available, the event will focus on how circularity, advanced processes and innovative technologies can help rethink the end-of-life of materials and support more sustainable value chains.

The workshop will feature presentations from CompSTLar, BIO4EEB, iBot4CRMs, ICARUS and Wood2Wood, followed by a panel discussion and closing remarks. Together, these projects will share concrete approaches to circular manufacturing, bio-based materials, waste valorisation, AI, robotics, digital twins and construction and demolition waste recovery.

Speakers and project presentations

The event will open with a presentation of the RECAP cluster, before moving into a series of project presentations led by speakers from across the five participating initiatives.

Marc Wilms, Research Associate at Fraunhofer-Institut für Produktionstechnologie IPT, will represent the CompSTLar project with the presentation “Digital Twins & Circular Manufacturing: The New Standard for Aerospace”. His contribution will focus on the role of digital twins and circular manufacturing approaches in supporting more sustainable practices in the aerospace sector.

Fernando Sigchos Jiménez, Secretary General of the European Builders Confederation EBC, will present the BIO4EEB project through the session “Demonstrating Circular and Bio-Based Insulation Materials for Enhancing the Energy Performance of Buildings”. This presentation will highlight how circular and bio-based insulation materials can contribute to improving the energy performance of buildings.

Irene García Martínez, Digital Transformation & Innovation at CELSA GROUP, will speak on behalf of the iBot4CRMs project with the presentation “From Waste to Strategic Resources: How AI and Robotics are Transforming Ferimet’s Circular Model”. Her presentation will explore how artificial intelligence and robotics can support circular models and help transform waste into strategic resources.

Mariale Moreno, Innovation Consultant at PNO Innovation, will represent the ICARUS project with the presentation “Demonstrating Circular Solutions for Industrial Waste Valorisation”. Her contribution will focus on circular solutions for industrial waste valorisation and the role of innovation in supporting more sustainable industrial processes.

Fotios Konstantinidis, Division Leader of Industry 5.0 & Smart Manufacturing at I-SENSE Group / ICCS, will present the Wood2Wood project through the session “Advanced Separation and Sorting Technologies for Construction and Demolition Waste Valorisation”. This presentation will address advanced technologies for improving the recovery and valorisation of construction and demolition waste.

A shared discussion on circularity in action

Beyond the individual project presentations, the workshop will offer a space for exchange between projects, experts and stakeholders working on circular economy and sustainable innovation.

The presentations will be followed by a panel discussion and closing remarks, allowing participants to connect the different perspectives shared during the event and discuss how circular solutions can move from research and demonstration to wider implementation.

The event will conclude with networking drinks and a buffet lunch, creating an opportunity for participants to continue the conversation and build connections with organisations working on circularity, sustainability and advanced processes.
