On 3 June 2026, from 10:00 to 12:30, BIO4EEB will participate in the RECAP Cluster hybrid event entitled “Closing the Loop: Advancing EU Competitiveness and Sustainability through AI, Robotics, and Digital Twins in the Manufacturing Sector.”
Held online, the session will bring together five EU-funded projects: CompSTLar, BIO4EEB, ICARUS, iBot4CRMs, and Wood2Wood. The event will explore how artificial intelligence, robotics, digital twins, digitalisation, and advanced sorting technologies can help strengthen circularity across several high-impact sectors.
Technological solutions supporting circularity
The event will highlight innovative solutions aimed at improving resource efficiency, reducing waste, recovering secondary materials, and optimising material lifecycles.
Discussions will cover several key sectors, including aerospace, the built environment, and industrial manufacturing. Particular attention will also be given to the sustainable valorisation of composites, industrial waste, critical raw materials, and wood.
Through expert presentations, the session will show how advanced technologies can help accelerate the transition towards a greener and more resilient industrial economy while supporting European competitiveness.
BIO4EEB’s contribution to the agenda
As part of the programme, BIO4EEB will present:
“Demonstrating Circular and Bio-Based Insulation Materials for Enhancing the Energy Performance of Buildings.”
The presentation will be delivered by Fernando Sigchos Jimenez, Secretary General of EBC.
The event is open to policymakers and regulatory bodies, researchers and academic institutions, industry professionals in manufacturing, aerospace, and construction, as well as stakeholders involved in digital innovation, automation, and the circular economy.
