BIO4EEB releases new conference paper on data-driven building refurbishment

BIO4EEB is excited to announce the release of a new conference paper : Predictive Modelling for Building Envelope Refurbishment with Bio-Based Solutions.

Authored by Oussama Elkarymy, Amina Dacić, Adrienn Gelesz, and András Reith from ABUD Advanced Building & Urban Design, the study was presented on September 13th at the 6th Central European Symposium on Building Physics (#CESBP2025) in Budapest.

ABUD’s research demonstrates how predictive modelling, using EnergyPlus and Grasshopper, can evaluate renovation scenarios for Hungary’s Kádár-kocka housing stock. The approach rapidly estimates energy and comfort performance, overcoming the limits of traditional energy simulations and supporting scalable, sustainable refurbishment strategies.

👏 A big thanks to Oussama Elkarymy for the presentation !
